How to Order

Orders can be placed by using our secure server, mail, phone, fax or e-mail. In the instance of e-mail however, we ask that customers not include their credit card information in the e-mail as it is not secure. You will be contacted by our office to confirm your order and to obtain the relevant credit card information.

Payment Options

For your convenience we accept Visa, Master Card or Paypal and COD (cash only with the post office) in Canada. There is an additional COD fee which will be reflected on your invoice. This fee can range between $6.50 and $9.00 depending on what Canada Post indicates for the destination. We no longer accept cheques or money orders due to the delays experienced in the past. Please be aware that the shipping is an estimate, therefore if using Paypal as your method of payment if the shipping is estimated high you will either receive a credit or refund through Paypal and if the shipping is estimated too low, you will be notified of the variance and an additional Request for Payment will follow.
 

Minimum Order

There is a $30.00 Canadian minimum order requirement before shipping, handling and taxes. Unfortunately we found it necessary to institute this policy due to the increased frequency of small orders being placed where the shipping and handling exceeded the total cost of product ordered.

Handling Fee

Although there is no minimum order requirement, there is a $5.00 handling fee for each order placed. This fee offsets the cost of preparing invoices and shipping materials including boxes, bubble wrap, tape, etc. This fee is calculated in the shipping rate on our shopping cart, but will show up separately on your invoice.
 

Back Orders

We do not maintain a listing of back ordered items unless directed to do so. If you wish for an item to be back ordered you will be responsible for the additional shipping.  If you find an item has been back ordered, please reorder it with your next order. 
 

Goods and Services Tax or Harmonized Sales Tax (Canada Only)

All orders placed to destinations within Canada must include the 5% GST or the 13% Harmonized Sales Tax (Maritime Provinces except PEI). 
 

Returns/Exchanges

There are no refunds or exchanges on fragrances, dyes or special order items. Other items being returned must be in resalable condition before a refund or credit is granted. All refund notices must occur within 14 days of the customer receiving their order and be cleared by our office. Customers are responsible for the return shipping, customs and/or duty fees when a return courier is used. A 15% restocking fee will be deducted from the credit or refund. 
 

Damaged Shipments

All orders shipped out via courier are insured. Therefore, on those rare occasions where items have been damaged during transit, it is up to the customer to contact our office to file an appropriate claim. Damaged items SHOULD NOT be returned unless otherwise directed by Lynden House International Inc., as this may affect the outcome of the claim. 
 

Canadian Shipping

Most orders are shipped through Canada Post Expedited Service. In instances where large amounts of glassware are being shipped, product is sent via courier as these packages can be insured against damage where they cannot be through the post office.

Canadian Shipping Rates

Shipping rate calculations can be somewhat complicated. Therefore, shipping shown on the shopping cart is an estimate. An actual shipping amount cannot be verified until the order is picked, packaged, cubed, weighed and calculated by our carrier.

U.S. Shipping

All orders shipped to the United States are sent via courier or Canada Post. Please note e for orders exceeding $200.00 U.S. please include your Tax ID number or Social Security Number for U.S. Customs purposes. Shipping rate calculations can be somewhat complicated. Therefore, shipping shown on the shopping cart is an estimate. An actual shipping amount cannot be verified until the order is picked, packaged, cubed, weighed and calculated by our carrier.

Fast Buys or Prebuys

  • Typically products offered through our Fast Buy Opportunities (FBO's) are not in stock. On these occasions we take orders in advance until there is enough interest to satisfy a supplier's minimum order requirement. This means the inventory must be received in our warehouse before your order is packed and shipped. This can mean a wait of up to 3 or 4 weeks in some cases. On some occasions we may have already preordered products and are in a position to offer them to you at a really great price.

  • Prices do not include shipping or handling. There is a $5.00 handling fee on all shipments and shipping is calculated according to what Canada Post Expedited Service charges. These fees will be reflected on your final invoice.

  • All FBOs must be prepaid in advance otherwise they cannot be included. This ensures that we have enough interest to satisfy the minimum order requirements with some of our suppliers. Terms of payment include Visa, MasterCard and Paypal. In the case of Paypal you will be billed immediately for the product and a second invoice with the actual shipping will follow just before the product is to leave our warehouse. Once confirmation is received from Paypal that funds are transferred your order will be shipped. We do not accept CODs, Money Orders or Cheques on FBOs.

  • Feel free to include other items in your shopping cart if you are also purchasing Fast Buy products, but just be sure to let us know if you wish for your order to be shipped complete or as the items arrive in the Comments section of our shopping cart. If nothing is indicated, your order will be held until all items are received and then shipped out. This can mean a wait of up to 4 or 5 weeks for you to receive your order.

  • In the event there isn't enough interest in a FBO by the indicated deadline, Lynden House reserves the right to either extend the deadline, or at our discretion cancel the FBO. In the case of cancellation, all funds collected will be immediately returned/reversed on the customer's credit card. Cancellations are likely to occur only if there are supplier problems. Otherwise, the expectation is that the product will be ordered, it's just a matter of enough interest being generated for the FBO to occur.

  • FOB Orders cannot be cancelled by the customer if we've already placed the order for the product after the closing date. Future participation in FBOs may be restricted.

  • Customers are encouraged to check our Retail website frequently to remain up-to-date on the status of our FBOs. The website will be your most up-to-date source for information. Where feasible, FBO information will be included in our newsletters to those individuals who are on our mailing lists.
